What do you pay for horse training? or What do you charge?
Posted by admin | Under horse training Monday Mar 8, 2010I was just curious what the going rate for sending a horse to a trainer. What is the board plus training?
For reining I charge $1450 a month and I ride the horse 6 times a week with a rest on Sunday.
For cutting I charge $2100 (for advanced cutters) a month due to the costs of cows and feed for the cows and other stuff. The horse is ridden 6 times a week, cut on 3 or 2 times a week, depending how they cope with the stress and are given Sunday off. For starting cutters on the mech. cow and just plain starting them, I charge $1650 a month and its the same program except with the mech. cow.

2 Important Tips On Winning Horse Racing Chances: Ground and Weather Conditions
Posted by admin | Under horse training Monday Mar 8, 2010
Ground and weather conditions are important factors in Horse facts Guide Amazon’;return true;” onmouseout=”self.status=””>horse race betting. It may be very difficult to place a bet on any horse, as the race greatly depends on these factors.
Ground Conditions:
Ground conditions depend on rain, because when it rains, the racetrack becomes wet, many potholes happen on the ground, and racetrack becomes messy. The ground becomes slippery and wet due to mud and imposes more difficulties for horses to run and race.
You may gather information on the previous horse race betting that were influenced by the ground and weather conditions. This will give you an idea about how to bet prudently in such situations. You may gain knowledge as to which bet will benefit more i.e. whether it’s wise to back or lay on a horse.Â
Watch the races being held in spite of such conditions. Find out which horses are comfortable on wet ground and which horses are comfortable on dry ground. Determine the best betting options and accordingly place your bets.Â
Weather conditions:
Not all weather conditions are suitable for horses to perform well. However, some horses get proper training to perform in such conditions, but they find it difficult to perform in all weather conditions.Â
Bettors need to be very careful before placing a bet. Have a look at all the horses and see how they perform. You need to be watchful of the conditions in which these horses were comfortable to perform.
For instance, if a horse is comfortable in rainy conditions, there is no problem in placing a bet on that particular horse. However if you find that a horse is not comfortable in rainy conditions, it is good to avoid backing on that horse.Â
There are chances that the horses may get weak and exhausted as not all weather conditions suit all horses. Therefore, it is important to see that the horse you select to place a bet is physically fit and is comfortable in all weather conditions. Also, make sure that horse is not suffering from dehydration.Â
There are various factors in placing a bet. You need to consider all these factors to place a bet on horse racing, as your money is involved in betting. As such ground and weather conditions are the most important factors in this regard.

You’re doing the right thing by getting a trainer, a trainer is really great to help you and your horse learn to communicate well.

Horse Training Tips – Common Problems You Might Encounter
Posted by admin | Under horse training Monday Mar 1, 2010
Training a Horse facts Guide Amazon’;return true;” onmouseout=”self.status=””>horse may look like a piece of cake but it is quite a challenge. Not everyone can do it successfully; you need experience and a lot of training to be able to turn it into a smooth job. Obviously, there are a number of inherent problems to overcome, some quite common, others depending on the individual situation.
Article Body:
If you have just purchased a horse from a previous owner, you will have to spend some time helping the horse to get used to its new home. Even people need some time to adjust to new environments, everybody knows that, but horses find it harder than we do. The first step into solving this problem is creating a strong bond with your horse. You will find several techniques to apply for a successful result; choose one and get started!
Feeding time can be another issue. There are horses that become rather aggressive and may even attack you at feeding time. Some of them do it instinctively, because no one has ever taught them not to. Changing the feeding location will be a good way to approach horse feeding. Switch from the camped stall to an open field and everything will be much easier. And do not try whipping the horse to make it behave; it wonât solve the problem anyway.
An unfamiliar area will make most horses balk at moving forward. This does not mean the horse is stubborn; itâs their nature. They are only confused and have no idea what to do; so the first thought coming to their mind is not to move at all. In order to persuade the horse to change its mind and react to your intention in a positive way, you can show it where to go by letting another horse lead the way. If that does not work, you may take him to the spot several times until the horse has become familiar with it. You will soon be able to take the horse on the trail with no hassle at all.
If you are looking for further horse training advice, you can check some great resources in my signature. I promise that soon your animal will behave exactly as you expect it to.
